Marathon is an island community that offers spectacular fishing, world-class wreck and reef diving, sailing, snorkeling, and one of the most beautiful, tropical locations to relax in the Florida Keys. Marathon has a fishing heritage, old-Keys lifestyle and seafaring traditions. Educational centers such as The Turtle Hospital and Dolphin Research are located just a few miles away. There are nature and historic sites to visit or just relax at one of the spectacular beaches. Marathon has an abundance of restaurants that feature fresh fish, lobster, and stone crab claws from the local waters, and it is within easy driving distance of Miami and historic Key West.

Marathon is located in the middle Keys, 50 miles north of Key West and 113 miles south of Miami.  The drive along US 1 is beautiful from Key Largo all the way to Key West.
